It's time to go back to blogging.
#featuredBlogging has been a part of the internet landscape since its inception. While its focus has shifted towards SEO and attracting business nowadays, the joy of writing for personal satisfaction seems to have been overlooked or migrated to the new social media platforms we all have a love-hate relationship with.
Personally, blogging was the catalyst that drew me into the world of web design. I remember about the days when platforms like Tabulas (now extinct) empowered users to craft their own personal blogs, pretty close to what Tumblr offers today.
There was a certain magic in sharing daily life experiences with friends and gradually expanding your audience. We used code snippets for visitor counting, incorporated message boards, and experimented with everything in between. It had a unique impact.
During that era, Internet Explorer held the majority share of internet users until Mozilla Firefox entered the scene. Suddenly, we found ourselves crafting CSS workarounds that played well with Microsoft's browser.
Web design involved creating layouts in Adobe Photoshop and then slicing them into tables to ensure optimal display on 800x600 screens. All the coding was done in Notepad without the luxury of code highlighting, linting, or the other conveniences we enjoy today. It was a different era.
For me, after a decade of steering clear from writing, it's high time to rekindle that passion. I hope to approach it in the same manner as I did in the past: purely for the joy of sharing something personal with the world and solely for the love of writing.
